1 medium watermelon (tarbuj)
1 small sized honeydew melon
2 apples
3 sticks celery (ajmoda)
1 packet (100grams) strawberry jelly
1 bottle raspberry soda
Salad Cream to serve
salt, pepper and sugar to taste
lettuce leaves for decoration

  1. Make balls out of both the melons with a baller.
  2. Skin the apples and cut into cubes.
  3. Chop the celery.
  4. Apply a little salt, pepper and sugar to the melon balls, apple and celery pieces.
  5. Dissolve the jelly in 2 teacups of boiling water. Cool a little and add the raspberry.
  6. Pour a little jelly mixture into a 200 mm. (8") diameter ring mould tin and arrange as many melon balls as possible around the mould. Put to set in the refrigerator.
  7. To the remaining jelly mixture, add the apples, celery and 1 1/2 teacups melon balls. Pour this mixture over the set jelly and put to set in the refrigerator.
  8. Just before serving, dip the mould in hot water for a few seconds, loosen the sides and unmould on a plate.
  9. Fill the centre with melon balls or salad cream and decorate with lettuce leaves and the remaining melon balls.
  10. Serve cold.
