Fettuccini in Tomato Sauce

The oregano-flavoured tomato sauce is the highlight of fettuccini with tomato sauce, not to forget the thoughtful combination of broccoli and baby corn. Take care not to over-cook the broccoli to ensure it is crisp and colourful.

1/2 packet , white fettuccine
1/2 onion , chopped
2 garlic (lehsun) cloves , chopped
1/4 cup small broccoli florets
6 to 8 baby corns , sliced lengthwise
2 tbsp tomato puree
2 tbsp fresh cream
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp butter
1 tsp oil
salt to taste

  1. Cook the fettucine in salted water for about 5 minutes to make it tender.
  2. Drain, refresh in cold water and keep aside.
  3. Heat the butter and oil in a pan, add the onion and garlic and stir fry for some time.
  4. Add the broccoli and baby corn and stir. Add 1/4 cup of water, cover and cook. Then add the tomato puree, cream and milk and heat till the mixture comes to a boil.
  5. Finally, add the fettucine, oregano and salt and mix till the sauce coats the fettucine.
  6. Serve immediately.

  1. To refresh the fettucine, put it in a colander and pour cold water on it till it cools.
  2. Time-saving tip :
  3. Work on the sauce while the fettucine is being cooked.
