One of the most popular sauces for desserts, is made healthier here by adding low fat butter and low fat milk. Serve it hot poured over vanilla ice cream, brownies or with any of your favourite desserts.

Makes 2 cups

1 tbsp grated dark chocolate
2 tbsp cocoa powder
4 tsp low fat butter
1 3/4 cups low fat milk
2 1/4 tbsp sugar
1 tsp cornflour dissolved in 3 tsp low fat milk

  1. Combine the chocolate, cocoa powder, butter, milk and sugar in a non-stick pan and cook till all the sugar melts.
  2. Add the cornflour mixture while stirring continuously and let it simmer for 5 to 7 minutes on a slow flame.
  3. Remove from the flame and keep aside.
