Ingredients

For the cutlets
1 kg potatoes
450 gms onions
4 green chillies, chopped
2 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
1 tbsp lemon juice
salt to taste
3/4 cup plain flour (maida)
bread crumbs
oil for deep-frying
1 kg tomatoes
3 to 4 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp chilli powder
3 tbsp tomato ketchup
salt to taste

For the topping
3/4 cup potato wafers or 3/4 cup of boiled spaghetti
2 tbsp grated processed cheese

Method

    For the cutlets

    1. Boil the potatoes and mash them coarsely.
    2. Chop the onions finelt.
    3. Mix the onions, potatoes, green chillies, coriander, lemon juice and salt.
    4. Shape into cutles.
    5. Mix the flour very well in 11/2 teacups of water. Dip the cutles in this paste, roll into bread crumbs and deep fry in oil.

    For the sauce

    1. Cut the tomatoes into big pieces, add 1/2 teacup of water and cook.
    2. When cooked, take out a thick soup by passing through a sieve.
    3. Add the sugar, chill powder, tomato ketchup and salt. Boil for 15 minutes.

    How to proceed

    1. Arrange the cutles in a dish, pour the hot sauce over the cutles. Decorate with potato chips and serve hot.
    2. Alternatively, you may arrange the cutles in a baking dish, pour the hot sauce over it and add the spaghetti, If you like, sprinkle 2 tablespoons of grated cheese and bake in a hot oven at 450°F for 5 minutes.
    3. Serve hot.

Great combination of cutlets and spaghetti in tomato sauce.I make the cutlets with lots of veggies like French beans, corn and carrots. This dish taste good when baked with a little cheese and also if sizzled on a sizzler plate.
