As you know, cabbage and green chillies combine naturally, enhancing each other’s flavour, and their magic works out well in this cabbage paratha too. Coriander adds a peppy punch and nice green speckles to the Indian style cabbage paratha without stuffing, making it a really exciting treat to the palate. Just make sure you squeeze out the excess water from the cabbage. Otherwise, it will let out water and your parathas will become soggy.
To make cabbage paratha, combine the cabbage with little salt, mix well and keep aside for 10 minutes. Squeeze the excess water from the cabbage. Add the remaining ingredients, mix well and knead into a soft dough, using very little water. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and roll out each portion into a circle of 6" diameter, using little whole wheat flour for rolling. Heat a tava and cook each cabbage paratha, using 1 tsp of ghee, till golden brown spots appear on both the sides. Serve the cabbage paratha hot.

Also ensure you use ghee for cooking the parathas as it gives a very good aroma and flavour. However, remember to cook each healthy cabbage paratha with ½ tsp to 1 tsp of ghee to not go overboard in calorie and fat count. It is so flavourful you can serve it just with a bowl of curd.

Cabbage Paratha ( Patta Gobi Ka Paratha ) is a healthy paratha.
Paratha or
stuffed paratha are sumptuous Indian flat-breads that can be relished with curd,
pickle,
raita or even sabji. They can be as simple as the plain paratha or something as filling as the aloo paratha or the
paneer paratha. You can even mix together all the ingredients to prepare a delightful dough and then roll out a paratha just like we have done in the below mentioned Gobhi parantha recipe. This is a quick and easy version of the authentic gobhi paratha. Check out these suggestions to make similar parathas for

For preparing the cabbage paratha, measure all the ingredients and keep ready.

Remove the top leaves and wash the cabbage.

Finely chopped the cabbage with the help of a sharp knife. You can even grate the cabbage.

For preparing the dough of patta gobhi ke paratha, in a deep bowl, transfer the cabbage.

Add a little salt

Mix well and Keep aside for 10 minutes.

Squeeze out the excess water from the cabbage.

Add the whole wheat flour. To make the gobhi paratha more healthy, you can make use of multigrain flour.

Add the cabbage.

Also, add the chopped green chillies. Alternatively, you can make use of red chilli powder. You can skip adding the chillies altogether if preparing for kids.

Add the chopped coriander.

Add the salt.

Add the oil.

Mix together all the ingredients.

Knead into a soft dough, using very little water. Our gobhi paratha dough is ready. Basically, there are 2 ways to prepare gobhi ke paratha. The other way is to stuff the gobhi and make stuffed gobi paratha.

Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape into round balls. Do not keep the dough idle for a long time or else it will start releasing water.

Flatten a portion between the palms and keep aside.

Dip the flattened portion into whole wheat flour and remove the excess flour.

Roll out into a circle of 6" diameter, using little whole wheat flour for rolling.

Heat a tava on medium flame and gently place the rolled gobhi paratha over it.

Cook the Cabbage Paratha ( Patta Gobi Ka Paratha ) till few blisters appear on the top surface. Press a little using the spatula.

Flip the gobi paratha and cook using a 1 tsp of ghee, till golden brown spots appear on both the sides.

Remove the gobhi parantha in a plate.

Similarly prepare all the gobhi paranthas. If not serving immediately, cool them a little and transfer to a casserole.
