An enhanced version of chila, cabbage pancake is delicious and wholesome. What is more, it can also be prepared in a jiffy, making it a great start to a busy day. Serve hot and fresh with chutney or ketchup.

Ingredients

1/2 cup besan (bengal gram flour)
1 cup grated cabbage
1 onion , chopped (optional)
2 green chillies , chopped
1 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/2 tsp crushed cumin seeds (jeera)
1/2 tsp grated ginger (adrak)
2 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
salt to taste

Other Ingredients
oil for cooking

Method
  1. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients and make a thick batter using water.
  2. Heat and grease a non-stick pan.
  3. Spread a quarter of the batter to make a 2 mm. Thick pancake.
  4. Cook on both sides till golden brown.
  5. Repeat with the remaining batter to make 3 more pancakes.
  6. Serve hot.

Tips
  1. You can use grated snake gourd instead of cabbage.
